Service
Mental health care designed for the realities of later adulthood — and the providers who understand them.
Aging brings unique mental health challenges — and unique strengths. Older adults face transitions that younger patients do not: retirement, the loss of partners and peers, changes in physical health, shifts in independence, and a different relationship with time and identity. These changes deserve care from clinicians who understand them.
At Adult & Child Counseling & Psychiatric Center, our work with older adults respects the experience and resilience that come with age while addressing the real symptoms — depression, anxiety, grief, cognitive changes, and adjustment — that can emerge in later life. We coordinate closely with primary care providers and, when appropriate, with family members involved in care.
We treat older adults across a range of situations: living independently, supported by family, or in assisted living. Telehealth is available when mobility makes office visits harder, and our prescribers are mindful of how medications interact with other health conditions common in later life.
These are the concerns our clinicians most often use this service to treat.
