Service
Coordinated support for families navigating conflict, transitions, or a member's mental health journey.
Family therapy treats the family as the patient. When one member is struggling — a teenager in crisis, a parent with depression, a child with behavioral challenges — the whole family system is usually affected. At Adult & Child Counseling & Psychiatric Center, we work with families to understand the dynamics at play and to build healthier patterns together.
Sessions are structured. Our therapists set ground rules for how the family communicates in the room, name what they observe, and give everyone — including younger members — a way to be heard. The goal is not to assign blame but to understand the patterns and to choose new ones.
Family therapy is often combined with individual therapy for one or more members. Because our team works in one practice, we can coordinate this care without duplicate intake paperwork or fragmented communication.
These are the concerns our clinicians most often use this service to treat.
