Almost always, coordination. Indian River County has psychiatric prescribers and it has therapists. What is harder to find is both in the same practice, talking to each other about the same patient, without you carrying messages between two offices.
That matters most when medication and therapy are both part of care, which is the majority of what we do. When a therapist notices something shift, the prescriber hears about it directly. When a medication is adjusted, the therapist knows before the next session.
The other reason is continuity. We have practiced from one address since 1992, and for someone who has already been passed between providers, that is often the thing they are actually looking for.
Making a longer drive workable
If you are coming from Indian River County, ask about appointment timing when you call. Scheduling around the drive rather than against it is straightforward, and it is easier to arrange at the point of booking than afterwards.
Be honest with us about what the distance means for you. If a weekly appointment is not realistic from Vero Beach, say so at the evaluation, and the plan can be built around a cadence you can actually keep. A plan you cannot attend is not a plan.
