Areas We Serve
Our office is on N Wickham Rd in Melbourne, a short drive south of the Viera and Suntree corridor.
We see patients from Viera, Suntree, Rockledge, Cocoa and Port St. John at our single office on N Wickham Rd in Melbourne, roughly 15 to 25 minutes south depending on where you start. Wickham Rd runs straight down the corridor, which is why this is the part of the county we see most patients from after Melbourne itself.
Our only office: 5545 N Wickham Rd, Suite 110, Melbourne, FL 32940The Viera and Suntree corridor skews considerably older than the rest of Brevard, and that changes what we see. Depression in later life is regularly mistaken for ordinary ageing or for the effect of a medical condition, and it often presents as aches, poor sleep, and memory complaints rather than as sadness.
Distinguishing between a mood condition, a medical cause, and early cognitive change is careful work, and getting it wrong in either direction has real consequences. Our psychiatrists evaluate for all three rather than assuming.
We also see the other side of it: adult children arranging care for a parent. That person is often the one who calls, and the appointment is frequently as much about helping them understand what they are looking at.
The corridor is not only retirees. The newer developments have brought young families, and school-age evaluation requests from this part of the county have followed. Attention difficulties, anxiety, and the behavioural changes that show up first at school are common reasons a parent calls.
Because we treat children, adults, and older adults in one practice, a family managing both a parent and a child does not have to hold two relationships at two practices.
